Just Some Friday Stuff

It's been a whole week since I blogged...did you miss me?

Did I tell you I was off last Monday? haha!

Larry's coming to see me this weekend! WoooHOOOO! I haven't seen him in about a month, so it's going to be good to visit with him.

Another sad week here in Paris this week. A 17 year old boy was killed in a one vehicle accident. His dad was one of the pall-bearers at Bill's funeral last Tuesday...and then this Tuesday, his son died. Too sad. Please EVERYONE, be careful!

IT'S FINALLY FRIDAY!

What a looooonnnnnggggg week! But, because I work at a bank, I get to be off on Monday! WoooHOOOOO for President's Day! What am I going to do that day???? NOTHING!

Bill's visitation was Monday night....so many people there that loved him and love Peggy even more. His funeral was on Tuesday afternoon.....OH MY STARS....it was soooooo COLD!

There are so many people sick right now...my Larry is one of them. He's been sent home 3 days in a row. OK people, if you have fever - STAY HOME! I'm just "the mother" and I don't know too much, do I? This flu bug is awful and will knock you down!

I'm going to Royce City, with Peggy, tonight for Ellie's play-off game.....go Pantherettes!

Heart Broken

My heart is broken tonight....my friend Bill Robinson died very suddenly this afternoon. He was married to my best friend Peggy. He was hooking up the camper to his truck....doing what he loved....and had a heart attack.
And yes, you are correct, he does look like Charlie Daniels!

Fourteen For Friday

14 Reasons Why This Was Not A Good Vacation

1. Didn't want it.
2. Didn't plan it.
3. Webber was in the hospital the WHOLE week. (An obstruction in his stomach.)
4. Men are NOT good patients.
5. Projectile vomiting is replusive.
6. Hospitals SUCK.
7. I was sick on Wednesday.
8. CODE GREEN....that was a little terrifying.
9. The hospital cafeteria is awful.
10. The "recliner" in the room was uncomfortable.
11. The "recliner" in the room had a squeek that would raise the hair on the back of your neck.
12. It was like a sci-fi movie...you've never seen so many people with masks on.
13. When I say HELP...that means NOW...not in 10 minutes.
14. When they say they are discharging a patient....that doesn't mean NOW...and that they are going to do it anytime soon.

Wednesday...Hump Day

Only 1 more day in the late chair here at work. ARRRRGGGGHHHH! Those of you that know me know that I am a MORNING person and, to have to come in at 10 a.m. STINKS! I'd rather be at work at 5 a.m. and get it over and done with! Oh well....1 MORE DAY!

There's been nothing exciting at all...oh wait...I forgot....Peggy came by today and showed me the brochure of where we'll be staying in Cancun...I AM SO EXCITED! It's all inclusive...right on the Caribbean Sea...OH MY STARS...will I ever be a hick from the sticks? We're going from June 8-12th...Did I tell you that I am excited?

This past weekend was pretty restful. I enjoyed that! I slept late, which is a treat for me! (Ok, so late to me is 8:30.) I went to a baby shower on Sunday afternoon at my little grand-friend Roselynn's house. Baby things are so cute now...so many things to choose from, especially for little girls.

We almost got blown away here in Paris, Texas yesterday. (Click on the link and you see some of the damage.) The wind got up over 50 miles an hour at some points in the day. Lots of damage to roofs, fences and a couple of buildings downtown. Everyone that came in the bank had that "wind blown" hair style...except for me! haha!

FRIDAY.....I didn't think it would ever get here! Fridays are always busy here at the bank...I love that! I don't have to work tomorrow AND NO PLANS....so I can pull the covers up and sleep in! WooHOO! Webber's cooking stew for supper.....YUM! Woke up to ice on the windshield and rain coming down. Oh man....what a good day!

Holy Cow...where did the time go?

Oh my stars.....do you see how long it's been since I last blogged? I'll give you the basic excuses... I've been busy...I haven't had time...ewwww....just forget those. I've just been forgetful. I read LOTS of other blogs and think that no one would be interested in what I have to say. But, I'm just gonna write....it's for me...just me.

I've lost 52 pounds since July...I'm staying with the low-carb dieting and keeping my blood glucose levels good....still no diabetic meds...WOOOHOOOOOO!

Larry is loving the big city life in Plano. He's happy with his job and his life. That makes me happy. He turned 27 last week, and came in on Saturday for our celebration. We didn't have much time together because his cousin, Ricky, was flying back in to Dallas. Ricky has been in Iraq and was injured 2 weeks ago. He was sent to Balad, Ramstein, Bethesda then to Dallas. He's doing good and will have 30 days at home before he has to go back. God definitely had his arms around Ricky during all of this.

Baby Girl is 9 months old and becoming quite a lady....haha! Not so much. She is a DIVA! She wants all of my attention, all of the time. She sleeps with me and takes up most of the bed. She SNORES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I've grown to really love her. She'll never take Pooh Bears' place... no little animal ever could...but she's found her own place in my heart.

My niece Natalie got married in December to Brady Hicks and they are now living in Honey Grove. Their wedding was absolutely beautiful. But, I think I'm a little prejudiced. She was the most gorgeous bride....seriously looked like a princess! (oh wait...am I prejudiced?) She's continuing her RN studies and will graduate in May.

So....that pretty much catches you up for now...I'll try to be a better blogger!

Diabetes Doldrums

I don't like being diabetic. I don't like having to count everything that I eat. I don't like not getting to eat what I want.

Ok....I'm through whining. I'll put on my big girl panties and deal with it.

It's been 2 months?

I can't believe that I haven't blogged since May...holy cow - where did all the time go?
I've been 2 months without Larry. I miss him, but talk to him lots. He loves his job and is enjoying being in the big city.
The week that I turned 51 my little Pooh Bear that I'd had for 10 years died. I miss him lots, but this past weekend I got another little baby to love. Her name is Baby Girl and she is a Boston Terrier/Pugg mix. (Which means she's a Bugg.) She is very hyper, very loving, very inquisitive.
It's STILL raining.............................

7. Watched Cas Haley (from Paris) on America's Got Talent.

8. Taught Baby Girl how to use the puppy pad.

9. Found out that I was diabetic. (Ewwwwwwww)

10. Dog-sat with my friend Becky's Great Dane...Gracie.

11. Wondered what on earth to do with my hair that is WAY too long.

12. Gotten wet - EVERY single day.

13. Not had a Coke or Dr. Pepper all week!
