Mother's Day 2010

Larry came to visit this weekend for Mother's Day.  It was so good to have him here for a couple of days!
He took me to the Paris Art Fair, endured walking around and talking, looking at everything.  Hearing me say "How cute!", "Isn't that neat?" and all those other phrases that probably drives him crazy.  But, he did it for me.
He walked around the Flea Market with me, "That is the ugliest thing.", "Can you believe people walk out of the house lookin' like that?", "Those poor little chickens.".  I know he was ready to leave, 'bout the time we got there.  But, he did it for me.
He mowed the yard, washed the car, moved stuff around.  He did it for me.
He went to church with me.  He took me to lunch...where I wanted to go.  He did it for me.
Mother's Day is just a day, some people say, but for me it's a declaration of love that a son has for his Mom.  And he did it for me!
Thank you Larry...Mommy loves you!

The Polk Estates are beginning to take shape this Spring.  Being outside and doing something productive, that has a beautiful end result, has really been good for me.  You have to remember.... I've NEVER been a yard person... and it's been theraputic.
(Can you believe I just said that in my OUT LOUD VOICE?)

At night the lights shine on the stars...makes you wanna start singing a song.
 "The stars at night...
are big and bright...
deep in the heart of Texas."
(Or, in the Polk Estates!)

This, my friends, is my deck.  Sure, I know it's small... and it's not a "real" deck... but, I wanted a deck... now, I have one!  (Thanks to my "Yankee Nephew" Elroy for the pallets/deck and the spool/table.)

Do you see what this is?
