Grand-Friends & Friends at "The Lake"

Three of my "grand-friends" (Abby, Laney & Kaitlyn) and I went to Springlake to visit some of our church members and friends that we've made there. (The girls call it "The Lake"!)
When we walk in the front door, there's a group that is always playing dominoes or bingo...they are a lively group of women! And they are always having a GREAT time!
This is Mary Jo Yeager...she is 92 years young! She even STILL drives!
In this picture, she's trying to show the little girls how to POSE! And, I think she did a great job!
You can NOT go to The Lake and not see Paris' most famous resident!
GENE RADER! He is a hit with these girls!
(Wish you could see his cap...the front is the head of a fish...the back is the tail of the fish!)
The first time I introduced the girls to Gene, I was explaining that he'd been in quite a few movies and had been on "The Tonight Show".
Abby said "You are a POP STAR!" Of course, Gene agreed with her!
This is Abby, Laney & Kaitlyn!

These girls are such posers! I LOVE it!

My Great-Nephew Trenton Turns 10

My GREAT nephew, Trenton McMillan, turned 10 a couple of weeks ago and it was a great time to get to see 6 of my GREATS! It's so amazing to watch these "little" ones getting big!....it seems that their parents should still be this age! This is the second generation to call me MENNA! I love it!
From left to right: Megan (Shane & Karen's), Cayla (Caleb & Jamie's), Destiny & Isabella (Lisa & Elroy's), Trenton (Caleb & Jamie's) and Develon (Shane & Karen's).

My Grand-Friend Emma Turns 2

This is Miss Emma Ryan McCarter.
Her Mommy is a precious friend of mine...AND she's such a good friend that I didn't even get a family picture of them....nor did I even get a picture of Emma with her Mommy.
Please forgive me Lindsay!
The theme of her party was Storybooks.
Miss Emma loves loves LOVES books!
This is Ridge Owens...he's another of my sweet little Grand-Friends.
This is his "toothbrush" smile!

Look at all the cupcakes...everyone had their own, with their own little storybook on top!
Emma's Mommy (Lindsay) had to be at a Leadership Lamar County retreat and so her Daddy (Michael) made the cupcakes....I must say, he did an EXCELLENT job!
Julia (Emma's cousin) & Aubrie (Emma's big sister)

I was THRILLED to be asked to read BIG books to the kids...I had so much fun!
This is "Silly Sally Upside Down & Backwards"!
The little boy next to me is Mason, check out his curls!

Emma stayed right at the front listening to me be VERY silly!
(I know....you're surprised!)

Then I read "BIG NEWS"!

Lindsay and Michael ... you are SO sweet to share all 3 of your girls with me.

My Grand-Friend Chloe Turns 1

This is Miss Chloe Grace Gray....her Mommy is one of my sweetest friends, Carol Kay.
This princess cake was made by Aunt Carolyn Hiner.
I hope you can see all the details that she put into it!

I love you all and hope you know how much I appreciate
you letting me be a part of your lives!

William Turns 70 !!

My oldest sister Martha's husband, William, turned 70 the end of August. They planned a surprise party for him at the Fish Fry...and I honestly think he was surprised! (For once!)

This is Martha & William and their kids...Melody, Todd & Wendy.

These are their grandchildren (Melody & Jim's kids).
In the front is Natalie & her husband Brady...in the back is their son Nathan & his wife Robyn.
More importantly....these are MY GREATS!
